The History
Collins Adult Residential Care, LLC was founded in 2015 by Tomeeka L. Collins. Ms. Collins’ vision was to help individuals with special needs as well as chronic illness. Her journey began when her mother had a stroke in 2001 and Ms. Collins decided to move back to Philadelphia, PA from Cleveland, OH to care for her mother.
In 2007, her brother was run over by a man in a SUV truck. After the accident, her bother was told that he would never walk again. He is now in a wheelchair and on a lot of medication. Her brother is disabled and needs a lot of assistance.
Ms. Collins wanted to help others to have a good quality of life. She worked very hard to assist her mother and brother for years.
Ms. Collins then decided to focus on individuals with disabilities. That was her passion and goal, and she became good at it due to the understanding and experience she has had over the years.
